How often do I need GFE’s completed?
Question: How often do my patients need GFEs?
Answer: Depends! At a minimum, Good Faith Exams are required to be updated annually and have active orders and treatment plans in place.
Most injections (dermal fillers, neurotoxins) are approved for one year. Other treatments and lasers need to be cleared closer to when the procedure is happening.
For example, when a patient completes a GFE, the laser procedure needs to be completed within a reasonable timeframe from that approval.
If a patient is requesting a new service they have not previously been approved for, they need a GFE. If the patient has had any changes in medical history, they need a GFE.
